Bed Bugs

Bedbugs (or bed bugs) are small, elusive, and parasitic insects of the family Cimicidae. They live strictly by feeding on the blood of humans and other warm-blooded animals. Bedbugs occur around the world.
Because infestation of human habitats has been on the increase in developed countries, bedbug bites and related conditions have been on the rise as well, since the 1980s-1990s.
The exact causes of this resurgence remain unclear; it is variously ascribed to greater foreign travel, more frequent exchange of second-hand furnishings among homes, a greater focus on control of other pests resulting in neglect of bedbug counter measures, and increasing resistance to pesticides.Bedbugs have been known human parasites for thousands of years.

Bed Bug Bites

Although bed bugs bite people and feed on human blood they have not been found to transmit any diseases to humans.
However, secondary infections resulting from scratching bites
can occur and should be cleaned and treated accordingly.
Repeat exposure to bed bug bites may cause some people to become
sensitized to the saliva and result in mild to intense allergic reactions. Serious infestations and chronic attacks can cause anxiety, stress, and insomnia.
