Call 424 PEST(7378)  today for a free inspection

Spring is here and along with all the wonderful changes that this time of year brings to our area like the grass turning greener and the all the beautiful flowers blooming (not to mention the beach starting to warm up) Also comes the most common way for a home or business owner to tell if you have termites. This is Swarmer season.

This is the time of year when large numbers of winged termites, known as "Swarmers," emerge inside homes and businesses. In nature, termites swarm to disperse and start new colonies. Triggered by warmer temperatures and rainfall, the winged termites emerge from the colony and fly into the air. The swarmers then drop to the ground, shed their wings, pair off with a mate, and attempt to begin new colonies in the soil. Few swarmers emerging outdoors survive to start new colonies. Swarmers emerging indoors are incapable of eating wood, seldom survive, and are best removed with a vacuum. They do, however, indicate that an infestation is present. So what do you do now that you know, without doubt, that you have a termite colony infesting your home or business? Call Pest Guard. Our technicians will conduct a complete inspection of your property and then discuss with you your possible options.
